2Falls apart ALL the timeMay 02, 2012

This looked to be a nice kit. The instructions were easy to follow and the vehicle easy to assemble. Only problem is, it will not stay together with normal use. Parts keep falling off and the kit never gets played with because of it. The stickers peeled off immediately. Not a good value and not a practical, useful toy for kids.

3Fun for a MarioKart fanDec 30, 2011
By Homeschooling mom
We got our 8 year old son the Mario and Yoshi cars. Knex are definitely not Legos, and if you like Legos, you will find these disappointing. The pullback motor is not great - at its best it putts along. Also, very quickly one of the cars wouldn't go straight under pullback power, and we could not see anything touching any wheel in a way that would explain that. And some of the pieces (engines on the back, even Yoshi's hand) fall off just from looking at it. All that said, our Mario fan is having a great time pushing (not using the pullback) the cars around on the floor making up his own MarioKart races. So while I'm not impressed, they were worth the money.

3A bit frustrating for my son... and for me.Dec 17, 2012
By E. K. Reed
I bought three of these sets because my son loves cars, he loves "legos" and he loves Mario characters. I figured it was a win-win gift. However, it was very apparent when we began building these that they are definitely NOT Lego quality in that the pieces come apart very easily. The box doubles as a ramp (brilliant idea!) but most of the time when you get the car to make the jump (the box is maybe 1.5" off the floor at it's peak) pieces fall off. While building it, pieces would fall off. Even when I methodically went through and squeezed the pieces together to make sure they were as tight together as they could be, it would still fall apart easily, which was pretty frustrating for both of us. He decided to try using his Lego pieces to substitute for some of the ones that kept falling off and for now, that solution seems to be satisfying him. I would have preferred that the original set would have worked better. On a side note, the stickers that come with the kit actually span 2-4 pieces (depending on which one), so if you ever wanted to take the car apart again, the stickers would probably be rendered useless because they'd need to be peeled off. They did, however, help to hold some of the pieces on the car, so I guess that was a positive. :)

The cars wouldn't stay on the track. And speaking of the track, my 8 year old (who builds lego sets age 9 and above with ease) struggled putting this track together - the instructions from Kinex are not easy to follow.

1Not worth the MoneySep 06, 2012

Not worth the Money. I was expecting more from this product. The kids were excited before getting it but they were disappointed after putting it together. It is not worth the time and effort and money.
